Green Vitamin C SmoothieIt’s No Secret that Vitamin C  Has Super Powers

Last week at about 10am I received the dreaded phone call from the nurse at my daughter’s school. “Mrs. Manausa, I have Maddie in here with me for the second time today and she is complaining of a horrible stomach-ache. Honestly, she looks a little green.” Grrreat. She proved she was not faking on the ride home, but I won’t get into that!

Fortunately, she suffered from the infamous “24-hour stomach bug” and was feeling much better the next day, albeit a little weak. When I asked her what she wanted for lunch, she said she felt like having a smoothie. Super Smoothie to the tummy rescue!

So I scoured my fridge and what did I find? Several fruits and vegetables loaded with immune-fighting vitamin C! Move over oranges! Kale, kiwi, and mango are stealing your thunder!

How to Make a “Feeling Green” Vitamin C Smoothie:  Green Vitamin C Smoothie Ingredients

Put the chopped ice in first, followed by the kale and spinach. Add the remaining ingredients and blend. You may need to add a little extra water if your blender is not spinning properly. Blend on high for about 2 minutes until smooth. Admire the beautiful green color and then nourish your body with “bug-fighting” vitamin C!
